About The Event :
IRIK International College of Aviation, a collaborative institution under Alagappa University, presents Pookalam 2026 — an Intercollegiate Athapoo Competition themed 'Let the Colours of Onam Bloom Through Your Creativity.' Teams from colleges across the district compete to create stunning traditional and contemporary Pookalam designs using only fresh flowers.
During this event we covered :
Pookalam 2026 invites undergraduate and diploma college teams to showcase their creativity through traditional and contemporary Onam-themed floral art. Each team of up to 5 members gets a fixed 4x4 feet area and 2.5 hours to complete their design using only fresh flower petals and leaves — no artificial colours, paints, chemicals, glitter, or synthetic decorations allowed. Exciting cash prizes and certificates await the winners.
- Competition Theme: Traditional / Contemporary Onam Heritage
- Team Size: Maximum 5 members — both boys and girls from UG & Diploma courses eligible
- Time Limit: Exactly 2.5 hours for execution
- Competition Area: Fixed 4x4 feet area allotted to each team
- Materials Allowed: Only fresh flower petals and leaves permitted; artificial colours, paints, chemicals, glitter, or synthetic decorations strictly prohibited
- Important Rule: Only ONE team from each college is permitted
- Registration Fee: ₹500 per team
- Awards: 1st Prize ₹5,000 + Certificate | 2nd Prize ₹3,000 + Certificate | 3rd Prize ₹1,000 + Certificate
